American Legion Veterans Career Fair
The American Legion 90th National Convention will kick off in Phoenix Saturday, August 23, 2008 with a job and benefits fair for veterans.
The job fair will run Saturday from 10 AM until 2 PM at the Phoenix Convention Center and is open to all military veterans.
The American Legion 90th National Convention will run through Aug. 28, with events being held at the Phoenix Convention Center, Hyatt Regency Hotel and US Airways Center in downtown Phoenix.

Arizona’s premier home show opens its doors once again in Downtown Phoenix as the Home & Building Expo celebrates its 17th year on Aug. 15-17 at the newly expanded Phoenix Convention Center.
This show targets both the homeowner and the home building industry focusing on remodeling, home building, home improvements, interior design, home building products and services.

Artlink First Friday
It’s August 1st. It’s Friday. Don’t miss Artlink First Friday, a free monthly self-guided tour of galleries, studios and art-spaces in downtown Phoenix. If you have never been to a First Friday, I recommend starting at the Burton Barr Public Library at 1221 N. Central Ave. At the library you can get a map, and take the free shuttle buses to get around. (6pm – 10pm)
